A new Performance arts space “FLUX 53” is opening up in East Oakland, and we will be inaugurating the space with an incredible Circus-fundraiser bash. The word Flux…elicits feelings of metamorphosis and change and this new space is a rapidly evolving environment that will be bringing a wide variety of productions & events as well as providing low cost rehearsal space to a community of artists in which venues are becoming more and more difficult to find. Come enjoy an evening of exciting entertainment with us and be part of the only first event we will ever have.
Join us on Friday January 30th to inaugurate the space with an amazing circus cabaret & dance party. Enter our circus midway and be awed throughout the 5500 sq ft space by amazing performance artists of many disciplines. The main stage event for the evening will bring you a variety of styles of performance including slack line and aerial dance, and then outside for the fire spinning portion of the show (weather pending). Finally you can dance the rest of the night away with multiple DJ's spinning into the night.
As this is a fundraiser, we're hoping to reinvest the majority of the donations directly back into the space - to make it that much more dynamic and adaptable to the full spectrum of circus, theatrical, musical and dance artists & students in the East Bay & beyond. The space is full of potential, which means it also needs a lot of help. We are keeping the cost low, and the value high as well to bring as many new people out to the space as possible.

Tickets are $10 (if you can be generous… give us more!). The Cabaret portion of the event will be capped at 200 guests. Please make reservations by phone if you would like to reserve tickets for the cabaret. You will need a credit card to make phone reservations. Your card will not be charged for the tickets in advance of the show date. If you do want to pay for your tickets via credit card there is a $2 fee per ticket. Tickets should also be available through www.inticketing.com within the next 72 hours. Otherwise you can simply pay for your “reserved” tickets at the door in cash after giving your name & reservation number. There will be no in / and out at this event. We have a large outdoor space in the back to get some fresh air in. We will have food & drinks available for the entire evening.
