Kathleen and I got married. That's the happy news! But when we got home after our honeymoon, I went out to get the car and all the air had been let out of all of my tires! And guess who did it?! The Vulcan Thai Cafe!
I rushed home tonight after a hard day's work at my contract job in SF to pick up Kathleen at the Bart station so we could get some groceries. We got home super late last night and haven't been able to be at home for very long yet. But when I went out to my car I saw that all the tires were flat. I was so mad! I thought it might have been a prankster... or could it have been the Thai Cafe?!
I felt bad when we rushed off to the airport and I had to move the car to one of the spots in front fo the Thai Cafe. There were no spots except for that one in front of the Thai Cafe, near one of their signs.
If you don't know it already, the "back lot" of the Vulcan is actually a public street. The city comes around and will tow your car for parking there for too long. They glued a green paper threatening to tow my classic 1962 Ford Falcon after I parked it out back for over a week when I got my new-ish car off craigslist so I could commute to my new job as a teacher. That sucked. It was embarrassing and took a long time to soak through the glue and get the paper off, even with a razor blade.
So anyway, the Vulcan Thai Cafe put up plastic signs a while back on that street to reserve spaces for their customers. That's fine during the day when most people go to work. I'm a freelancer and teacher, so I'm not on a 9-5 schedule like everyone else, and I usually bike instead of driving everyday. It's kind of hard for me to get back into a spot usually when it's late. Anyway, I felt bad for taking one of their spots, but we had to catch our plane and I hoped they wouldn't be too mad. It is a public street anyway.
Well, I guess they were mad! They let out the air in my tires by sticking small pebbles in the screw on covers for the tire valves and screwed them back on tight. I noticed the pebbles when I unscrewed them. Sneaky... and sleazy. Then one of the guys from the cafe came out. He told me he did it. I was shocked and horrified and already angry. Kathleen was waiting for me at the Bart station and I couldn't believe this! I told him how horrible this was and that we'd just come back from our honeymoon and this is what they did while we were away! I finally told him how mad I was and to f-off and just get the hell away from me. He wouldn't go away and started cussing at me. I was able to inflate my tires a little with an emergency kit I have in my car.
He came back out again and I told him to get away. Two other women were with him holding him off. I tried to tell them that he had done this to me while I was away on my honeymoon, after just getting married, happy times... That's when he jumped up and started screaming again and then he threatened to kill me.
I told Charley Bird about the whole thing. It's horrible. I don't want to live here anymore.
I think Kathleen waited for me at the Bart station for an hour.

Sun, November 9, 2008 - 10:00 PMDoes he have a car?
"do unto others..." and all that aside,
if you remove the valve cores from the valve stems
it's really hard to inflate tires.
Just sayin'...
