Hey!
I just moved into #14 (if anyone noticed two zombies unloading a giant Ryder van in the dead of night a few nights ago—that was me and my boyfriend Seth). We don't know anyone yet and are feeling rather lost in the wilds of Fruitvale. A few hunting-gathering trips have returned avocados and manzanos, though I have yet to find much-needed cholera medication and potable water. Not to mention firewood and snakebite antidote, or people to play musical instrooments with. I noticed the last "who lives here" post was from three years ago—perhaps we could resurrect it?
About-about-about:
I (Hilary, 22) am a writer, interested in starting a writter/reeder's group at the vulcan if none exists...does anyone else out there write, and would be interested in regular evenings of wine drinkery and write reedery? Bang on my door or shoot me with a poison dart or something! I want to meet you!
I intern at Red Wheel/Weiser (special-interest publisher in SF) and teach piano lessons to make gamblin' money (classical, jazz, improvisation, theory...20 years of taking piano lessons is good for something after all!) Just kidding about the gamblin' money—that money's actually for buying a sweet, sweet spaceship at the end of time. I also teach private French lessons to aristocratic ladies (growing up in a Frenchy part of Canadia is good for something after all...)
Seth (27) is currently asleep because he has a terrible cold/flu/virus/cholera/plague. But when he isn't groaning in misery, he is a genius who can learn anything really fast, and he does electrical engineering thingies, making electrical toys and tools for musicians....he's also working on breaking the world speed sailing record. We both play muzak of all kinds...we have tons of instruments (more than we actually know how to play) and are ALWAYS looking for people to play with. Lucky for us, our room at #14 is soundproofed...
Conclusion: I'm very excited about being here and want to meet people to jam with/work with/gabble with. Also, what's cool to see/do around Fruitvale? Are there any good Indian restaurants? Do's/don'ts, hots/nots, steals/deals?
Introduce yourself, let me invite you over for tea and hobnobbing...
Peace
Hilary
